Why did I choose my major?

When I was a kid my dream job was to be a fashion designer, however as I grew up I realized that the social thinking in Chile was still too much closed for this kind of decision. Since then, my new perspective would make me decide to study Political Science, Social Work or Public Administration.

I chose Public Administration because while I was in high school I accepted myself as a gay boy, a boy who was determined to make a change for the vulnerate LGBT community, I didn't know how or where to start, but with this decision the future will be better for me and many vulnerable minorities., I promise.

My experience at the university by now has been wonderful and friendly,  I have met wonderful people and learned a lot.

Who am I?

 

Welcome to my blog beautiful people of the earth and beyond. (Now that’s a pretencious start, don’t you think?). First of all, allow me introduce myself. My name is Matías Olivares Rodríguez. I'm eighteen years old, and I'm from Santiago de Chile, a big  city full of lights and urban life, but not too clean to be honest. I'm studying Public Administration at the "Universidad de Chile".

I love to listen to music especially Taylor Swift, Lana del Rey, Troye Sivan, Lady Gaga, The Killers, and Madonna; I like to dance, watch Netflix or Youtube; and research about the aesthetic from different eras like the Renaissance, the 20's, and the 70's. But if there's something that I live for, that must be the "Drag Culture", there are no words to describe how this new form of expression converges all my tastes and still manages to surprise me every day, it's like a beautiful dance between the courage of the black swan with the elegance of the white swan, it's magical, it's ethereal, it's just drag.

I live in a big house with my mother, my aunts and uncles, my cousins, my two little brothers, and a lovely puppy. My neighborhood is very ordinary and bored, but for it's like a leafy garden where lots of flowers emerge searching for sun and share their beauty.
